STUDIO KYCLOPS X JOHNATHAN HAYDEN 18 F/W
Brief
Johnathan Hayden, a fashion designer in New York, started his first season with Studio Kyclops. The 2018 collection was inspired by his own growth background. He grew up up in a variety cultures as a half Asian and half black. This collection reflected multicultural families that had influenced his life greatly.
Approach
The overall products had a strong oriental feeling based on and inspired by the background of his growth. Studio Kyclops cast a model to make the oriental feeling come alive. We tried to find a model who would match the concept, and finally cast Meghan Takahashi who was a mixed race.
We tried to find a model who would match the concept, and finally cast Meghan Takahashi who was a mixed race. Also, he collaborated with an accessory designer, Ruan, to create butterfly shaped glasses to harmonize with Johnathan's trademark, butterfly shape. Based on this concept, we started to create lookbook, editorial, and video.
